Hometown Hero: Becky Ramos
Ensign Becky L.B. Ramos graduated from high school in 1993 and immediately enlisted in the Navy where she served in several different duty stations as an aviation hydrualics mechanic.
She was selected for the Navy’s ROTC program, graduated from the University of Michigan in December of 2002, received her commission as Ensign and received orders to report to Hawaii for her first officer assignment aboard USS Chosin (CG-65) in the Engineering Department as the Auxiliaries Officer.
She was sent to the Persian Gulf in March 2003 and served an extended 8 month deployment supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom
From Becky:
"I am now back home in Hawaii, supporting smaller missions and spending time with my 8 year old daughter, Stephanie, that I have to be away from when my country calls me. Although I have sacrifices like these to endure, I am so proud to serve our country and do what I can to support Americans and our freedom.
My uncle has built an awesome website to honor myself and the crew of my ship if you are interested in taking a look.

Thank you for having a page dedicated to hometown heroes and the military. I appreciate all of your support."
Sincerely,
