| Charlie Umphred on the Importance of Attending Company Flings | ||
Note: This is a copy of a editorial I wrote for last year's February Newsletter. It has just as much meaning in THIS newsletter because there are so many new distributors who really NEED to understand the importance of attending at least one major Fling! “When I enrolled in my first network marketing program in 1986, it was simply to purchase a great product for personal use. Marketing was not something I had in mind. I had a busy life as a printer at a weekly newspaper, co-owned a martial arts studio, taught and engaged in bodybuilding and on weekends jumped out of perfectly good airplanes! Life changed and I found myself sitting in a wheelchair wondering if I'd ever walk again, let alone work again. While visiting a body building friend in California I decided to attend that company’s annual convention because I received a letter from one of my upline who said that whoever came to convention would see their dreams come true. At that point in my life, dreams were far and few between. When I arrived at that company’s 2nd annual convention I was on a cane and struggling to find a “place” for myself in the future. What I heard for those 2 days at that convention changed my life forever. I heard “stories” from everyday people. Stories about success and life changing experiences. It was at that convention that I made a decision to become a network marketing professional. When I arrived back home I was a changed person and my friends could see the “fire” in my eyes! I talked to everyone about a business opportunity that could change their lives. Most of my friends thought I had “lost my mind” but a few believed in what I was saying. The person who really caught that vision was my friend Bob Scocozzo. And together we formed a wild and crazy dream team that talked to everyone about financial freedom. Within one year, Bob had sold his successful franchise to stay home and help raise his newborn son, Mike, and I moved to a beautiful resort complex in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our lives were changed because I went to a company convention and took my belief home. I shudder at the thought of “what if?” What if I had never attended that convention that year. Where would my life be today...surely not better! So, when people ask me if they should attend this years Spring Fling. I look them in the eye and say with true belief...”You really cant afford to NOT attend!” Ask yourself how many times you will be positioned in front of a growing company where YOU have the potential to make a life changing income? And then ask yourself what would really keep you from attending a 2 day event that could spearhead that dream! Charlie Umphred |

| Paul Hobson Develops Incredible New Business Tool! | ||
I was sitting in a restaurant waiting to talk to a new prospect when it hit me….every restaurant has "placemats!"…and being a former owner of restaurants I knew that they cost the restaurant money! So, I went to a printer friend and told him about an idea I had and he said it sounded like a great idea. I called the corporate office and told them about my idea and Bobby said…"wow, I like that, go for it!" I had a batch made up (with company approved verbiage) and took them to a local restaurant who was thrilled to receive free placemats. Within 3 days I received phone calls from two people who wanted to enroll in the Candle of the Month Program! These are a great way to meet lots of local people and develop a local team of distributors! |

| Small Town Gal Doing A Big Town Job! | ||
I visited with Kari for quite some time that day and returned the next day to purchase candles. That night I was signed up to be a distributor and never looked back. I have had the pleasure to explore many network marketing businesses in my life thus far. I have had many failures and some successes and have learned from each experience. I believe these experiences will carry through to my new business and make me a success if I allow the time and patience it so deserves. I have been fortunate enough to touch on every aspect of this business with the help of my mentor and coach, Kari Andersen. One could not ask for a better business partner or friend. I have had the support of my family and friends to create quite a name for myself even though it may not seem like it. I have learned that just because you live in a small town does not mean you cannot do big business. I have stepped out of my comfort zone and been active with craft bazaars, candle parties, retailing, and finally fundraising. This aspect of my business has been very exciting for me. Several of us home-based distributors in every field (for example Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Creative Memories, etc) have gotten together and are putting on open houses where the public can come out and see what is available besides their local retail stores. It is so much fun to get together and share each other’s business stories. You would be surprised at what is available from people who work from home and the leads generated from it. Currently I am working with the fourth and fifth grade classes of our local school in doing a scented bear fundraiser. We have only displayed these bears at two home basketball games. Prior to the second game, I delivered more bears that were finished for the display to the school, and within an hour of being there, I sold 17 more bears. We currently have sold 38 scented bears and a total of $508 in sales. How exciting is that? I would like to add that these two classes consist of four boys’, that’s it. These boys are raising money for their spring field trip as well as raising funds to support a local gal who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. Just to listen to these boys will melt your heart. They care more for someone else with nothing than they do for themselves. I am so fortunate to be a part of this action plan. The community has been of tremendous support for this cause, and we are not finished yet. I cannot wait to see how this fundraiser ends. What a win-win situation for all. I have been able to incorporate my candle business into every area of my life. My husband and I have our own carpet cleaning business. This has really gone hand-in-hand with the candles. Every carpet-cleaning customer receives a votive candle as a free gift. I have received so many leads and sales from this simple act of generosity. I also work as a bookkeeper for my husband in a grain elevator, and this has proved to be very successful for the candle business as well. I have a display set up in the elevator and have done very well with sales by doing this. I am really surprised at the men who purchase candles, even bachelors. We get a lot of compliments that this is the best smelling elevator there is. Prior to me signing up with Scent-Sations, I was enrolled in college courses at home trying for a degree in Medical Transcription. Being a stay-at-home mom has always been a goal of mine. Despite being a very busy girl in all areas of my life between three jobs and a wife and mother of three (Jace 13, Quaid 11, and Kassidy 6), I will graduate in the spring of 2006 with a straight "A" average after a two year commitment. I keep asking Kari, "Why did I go back to school again?" All in all, I cannot complain about what I have accomplished thus far in my life. I am starting to build a team of my own with my candle business and share this experience with others, and also have a good clientele built up for my carpet cleaning business. I believe I will be a success if I continue to set goals and create an action plan to accomplish them. I cannot stress enough how important this is. I love what I do and am proud to be a Mia Bella distributor. May 2006 prove to be successful for all of you. -Wendy Dahl |

| New Distributors Loving The Business! | ||
| Hi! I’m Susan Lambert and I live in Seabrook Beach, NH. I am married and have 3 boys, Joshua, Jordan and Jake. I have worked for several years now, semi-full time as a Medical Assistant in a busy doctor’s office. -Susan Lambert, NH
It all began the day I spent with my friend Mariah chatting and catching up on our lives. Mariah knew that I was searching for a job that I could do from home to be able to stay with my 2 ½ year old and baby on the way. I am a teacher and decided it was time for me to take some time off and stay home and be mom for awhile. I have loved that decision ever since. I had been looking at a couple other party companies, but just was not happy with what they offered to their distributors. During our conversation, Mariah showed me the candle she had received from Kari as a trade for some lipstick. It was not burning but still smelled so good that I made the comment "WOW, I just want to lick it!" (So, now on my business cards, I have the saying "Your Gunna Wanna Lickum!") I wrote Kari’s name and number down and as soon as I got home, I checked out her website. The seed began to grow from that moment on. For as soon as I saw the company website and what a great product this was, I called Kari. That was one of the best conversations I have ever had for she is the sweetest person...we have yet to actually meet but she has been the best sponsor I could ask for! That little seed popped right out of the ground Thursday afternoon. After several days of praying and giving this business to the Lord, my husband and I decided that this would be a great business to start and I signed up for my starter pack late Friday afternoon. The story doesn’t end there, and this is the part I still can’t believe. At this point, that little seed got the water and sun it needed to grow even bigger. Of course being so excited about my new adventure, I started telling everyone! This included our good friends, Mel and Ward, who came to visit on Friday. As I was sitting there telling them my story and how excited I was to begin, Ward turned to Mel and said "We are doing this!" To make a long story short, they called me Saturday morning and told me that they talked all the way home and decided this was a business they wanted to start! I was in shock! I think I actually fell off my chair! I could not believe that not more than 24 hours after signing up myself, I was in the position of sponsoring someone else. I thank God it was a very close friend because they have been so patient with me. It was crazy at first but I am still enjoying all the learning. I have to give most of the credit to Kari, for she is the one that has really trained both of us. I am excited to report that Mel and Ward beat me to the punch and actually sold their first candle before me! I am happy for them and this opportunity to share this adventure together. While writing this letter I do have to let you all know that I have placed my first order and have made several leads out in our community. I look forward to what the future holds with selling Mia Bella Candles. I thank God for this great opportunity! Good Luck to all of you and let’s have fun! |

| Mia Bella's Turning On More Customers! | ||
Hi, Charlie! She has been at her friends' homes where a scented candle was burning and after only an hour she would have to tell them either the candle had to go or she had to go.Her headaches were so bad. I told her that we had people with allergies try Mia Bella and they didn't have a reaction and she may want to try one. She said she didn't want to take the chance. Throughout the day we chatted and I finally told her that I wanted to give her a candle to try and see if she or her family reacted to it. If she did, fine. I'd come get the remainder. If she didn't, she had to write a testimony for me. I told her that she might be pleasantly surprised. --- Thank you so much for introducing me to Mia Bella Gourmet Candles. All my adult life I have never been able to have candles in my home, lit or unlit, because of how sensitive I am to smells. I have never been able to have perfumes, air fresheners, scented soap etc. in my home. My poor kids go crazy because they want to get the newest perfumes or body sprays and I won't let them spray these products in the house. Its very funny watching kids getting ready in the morning and running outside half dressed with a spray bottle in their hands. We laugh about it often but it is a serious matter in the home. I have severe reactions, it could be just itchy skin to as bad as my throat swelling and not being able to breath to the worst headaches for hours. I not only have to wash all my clothes and towels in a free and clear laundry soap but I have to rinse them twice before drying. My life has been very dull until you introduced me to this wonderful candle. I have left this candle (sweet orange & chili pepper) lit several times since our meeting in November and never did the fragrance ever bother me or my youngest daughter who also is highly sensitive to smells. I can have the candle open on my desk beside me and actually enjoy the sweet smell of orange. Before this, in order for me to have scents in the home I actually would leave fresh fruit cut in a bowl instead, or have fresh flowers cut but even that at times got a reaction out of me. The worst is smelling something just for a second and receiving the worst headache for hours. I would love to be able to let others know how great this is and how you were right in telling me to try it. Whatever the products are that make up this candle I can honestly tell you that they are doing a great job and to continue doing that. *This is a great testimony from one of our excited team members in Louisiana. Read what Paula has to share.... "I went to a house warming shower for a friend today. The very first gift she opened was a hazelnut coffee scented candle from a retail store. She passed it around, no one opened it, and I sat it down at the end of the circle of guests. My gift was the last one she opened. I gave her a Blueberry Muffin Mia Bella Candle. She picked up the bag and said "I can smell whatever this is already." She opened it and three people sitting close to her said "I can smell that from here." I had the opportunity to talk about my candles for several minutes while it was being passed around. I told them all about my website and how to buy the candles from myself or the company. One lady from out of town stopped me as I was leaving and asked for more info, so I gave her a CD. I was so proud of my business once again. Gift giving always opens up the conversation for me. More seeds planted today!" Paula Andrews |

| Recruiting Is the Lifeblood of Your Business | ||
As a networking professional, and someone who is interested in creating more than a “hobby” income, you’ll want recruiting to remain at the top of your priority list of action steps for your business.
One can earn a great income retailing our wonderful products with Scent-Sations. We offer in-demand, unique products. This gives us a nice, competitive edge in retailing. One can also earn a substantial income focusing on fundraising, too. Once again, we offer a unique line of products that the end consumer can actually get excited about and will consider purchasing more of in a fundraising situation. And, one successful fundraiser can lead to many more. To truly grow a solid, residual based income, however, recruiting is what grows your business and where the true “big money” comes into play. Many of us begin our business with Scent-Sations doing a little of each activity and this is important in learning about the business and learning about ourselves. It will expand your abilities as a professional within the industry and as a strong coach and mentor to your team. Lay the ground work now for the business you intend to grow. Most people will ultimately settle into one particular area of working the business. If recruiting is an area you decide on, you will be creating leverage for yourself. J. Paul Getty made a profound statement once when he proclaimed “I would rather have 1% of the efforts of 100 men than 100% of my own effort.” And, so it goes with network marketing. In the beginning, you are the one putting forth all of the effort to generate a paycheck. You make your list, you pass out cards and scent samples, you run ads, and take whatever steps necessary to find other people interested in joining you. As you sponsor one, then another, and another, the personal effort required by you to generate that same paycheck as before is less and less. You have created “income leverage” as well as time leverage. You are not alone in taking action steps to create income. To create a large, growing organization, set a goal for the number of people you are going to personally sponsor (or recruit) into your business each month. To do this, you’ll need to set some action goals for yourself on steps that you will take to find those people. The recruiting process involves the introduction of the product and business; providing detailed information on our business system; and asking for the decision to join you. We are in a business of planting seeds and cultivating those seeds. The more seeds you plant, the greater your harvest will be. Running out into the field and trying to force the harvest is not something we do, either. Don’t make the mistake of planting only one or two seeds and then expecting to grow a beanstalk! Plant many seeds, water and sun those seeds, and allow the natural process to occur. Your business will only be right for another person based on his/her life situation and timing. You can not control this part of the process and I encourage you not to even try. Always keep the door open and make yourself available to answer questions and sponsor that person in at any time. I typically sponsor as many people each month who first looked at the business weeks, months and even years before, as I do those looking for the first time. I understand timing. It took me 15 months after my initial exposure and a life changing event before I joined my first company. Make sure you are still around when your prospects decide the time is right. My personal goal is to be among the top ten “Sponsor Monsters” that the company tracks. This goal keeps me in action and gives me an action plan for each month. I know the steps I need to take and the number of people I need to get my business in front of in order to reach that goal. It also provides inspiration for my team to also be listed in that group. Even if I fall short on reaching that goal, I still have the action plan out in front of me and know that the efforts I put in each month build on the previous month and will keep me with a growing business and a growing frontline of business builders. New team partners mean new excitement for the entire team. I am the first to admit that I do not have all of the answers, and especially not the creative ones, about our business. There are many people more talented than me on my team, and the synergy created by having so many resourceful people in one place is amazing. New ideas and new ways of marketing our products and our business come from new team members joining our ranks. That is why recruiting is the lifeblood of the business. Every month, I am energized by the fresh excitement that sparks renewed enthusiasm on the team. As the coach of your organization, you will inspire more by your own actions than by your words. Set your goals and intentions for recruiting and watch as the leaders on your team rise up to match and exceed those goals. Some in network marketing miss the point of duplication and leverage when they want to always be the one at the very top. For me, I am happy to be at or near the top, and even more happy when other leaders on the team have duplicated my efforts and goals and moved right on up the ladder. That, my friend, is what creates “walk away” income and income security. And, that is one of the big lures of network marketing – the ability to get paid whether we are present or not, on the efforts we put forth in the beginning. On that note, I’m off to pack for a family cruise. Hasta la vista! EXPECT Success! |

| The Seven Truths by Michael Clouse | ||
A wise man once defined success as a refined study of the obvious. How true. Most of what we need to know, say, and do to achieve mastery in Network Marketing could be easily taught—and understood—by a 12 year-old. Why then are we making this business so difficult?
All the best, |

| February Product Showcase: Scent-Sations Bella Body Wash Testimonials | ||
We tried every baby soap out there on my daughter. You'd think if it was "baby soap" that it would be gentle to a young child's skin. But her skin would turn blotchy and red and be so dry and itchy. Then we discovered the Bella Body Wash -- and have used it ever since on my daughter. She no longer has any of the skin issues she was experiencing with the baby soaps. We also use it to wash her hair and often get comments about how good her hair smells and how soft it is. I would love to see a child's bubble bath added to the line. Our Cantaloupe Kiwi Body Wash is without a doubt the best body wash I have ever used. When it first went on the market for ordering, after I tried a tube, I ordered several samples to hand out to people I met and talked with. They were going like hot cakes and I didn't want to wait for another order, so I went to the store and bought some tiny bottles and put some in those to hand out. I started getting calls from these people that tried the samples and even some coming to my home ringing my door bell to buy some. I have one very good customer that buys two or three tubes each time she buys because she said she has to hide them from her husband because he doesn't understand that it only takes a small amount to shower/wash with. She told him, "honey, a little dab will do you, so stop wasting this awesome product". But she still finds him going through the bathroom cabinets looking for the hidden Cantaloupe Kiwi Body Wash. This is an awesome product because it makes your skin and body feel so squeaky clean and leaves your skin as soft as a baby. I have several customers that wash their babies with our awesome Body Wash and their little bodies and skin are so soft. Thanks to Scent-Sations for giving us this awesome product to use and share with so many people that love it so much! Lucille Boling I have been using the body wash for months now. I am continually impressed by our products! I have a skin condition called dishidrosis, meaning I can not keep moisture in my skin, have to stay out of water as much as possible. I have extremely dry skin and was hesitant to try the body wash out, but I did. Boy am I glad! It has improved my skin, no more dry patches on my elbows or knees! I love the smell its very clean and works! I recommend this to everyone now and everyone loves it and reorders! I purchased the Bella Body Wash for my 16 year old daughter. As many teenagers are, she has some nasty breakouts from time to time. I’ve spent so much on various creams, acne pads, washes and the like I really don’t like to think about it. She absolutely LOVED the Cantaloupe Kiwi scent – it’s one of her favorites! I haven’t seen any difference in her skin with any of the products I’ve purchased for her in the past. She started using the Bella Body Wash and within a few days, the blemishes started to diminish. She now maintains a clear complexion constantly (a feat in itself for a teenager)! That is one product that will always be in stock at my house! I am SOLD! Sandy Milton Our Cantaloupe Kiwi Body Wash is fantastic! The fragrance is lovely. I LOVE the way it makes my skin feel so smooth - especially in these winter months. I can definitely tell the difference on my face after using it only a couple of days. It isn't dry and flaky, it has a nice shine, fewer blemishes, and just looks all-around great. Thanks guys for such a wonderful body product! I LOVE IT! Patti Price - IL I wanted to let you know that the body wash also makes a great hand lotion! When showing customers at craft shows how great the product was, I noticed that by the end of the day my hands were so soft they felt like silk. At the last show, I had a woman buy the body wash because she thought it was lotion, when I told her she would only need a small amount to get a wonderful lather in the shower she was thrilled to find it was actually NOT lotion, but body wash!
Dan & Carol Buck I fell in love with the Bella Body Wash the first time I used it. My fair, dry skin is very sensitive and prone to itching and irritations. The Body Wash always leaves my skin smooth and moist, never dry--from nose to toes! I gave some to my brother and he uses it....as his shaving soap! Great idea! Let's meet at the top! |

| High School Girl Running Her Own Dream Business! | ||
Mandy told me that you called and asked about our story, regarding our business, “Gifts by Peanut”. Peanut is my daughter’s nickname. She has wanted to be in business since 3rd or 4th grade when she started her first business making “beadie buddies”, which she sold to her friends at school. In the 8th grade, she attended a Girl Scout workshop on building businesses and she had to write a “business plan”. She wrote about a business in which she was the owner, a home based business, where she sold candle products and gifts, and she called it, “Gifts By Peanut”. She won a $5,000 scholarship based on that business plan. Then, a year or two later, she ran into your business opportunity, and the rest is history (or is that herstory). I hope you enjoy it! During the Spring of 2005, Mandy Sachse was a sophomore in High School and desperately wanted to attend the Summer Art Lab program at the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI). Her father and I had agreed that if she could pay half of the cost, she could go. That gave her four months to raise around $1,000. She became a waitress, won 2nd place in the art contest at St. Mary’s College (winning $100), and won the KCAI Leadership Scholarship (worth $250). Still concerned that she would not make enough money by the deadline, she discovered this business opportunity! She became very excited and said that she could do this. By the end of May, Mandy had met her goal, and had some money to spare! Mandy continued to sell candles after the Summer Art Lab. She now has new goals of wanting to save for 2006 Summer Art Lab, as well as a Trip to France in her Senior Year (2007). After that of course, she has high hopes to attend the KCAI. She continued to work the summer as a waitress, but much to everyone’s excitement, Mandy quit that job by the end of October. A wonderful improvement to her schedule…No more late nights in the middle of the week! Finally there was a job that worked wonderfully around her school schedule and extra-curricular activities. She has hosted several parties and even had a booth at the Kansas City Home Show. The Home Show was exciting. We spent weeks preparing for it, ordering enough stock, preparing our booth display, lead cards, business cards and fliers, as well as sachet samples to give away. Even though the show didn’t produce the quantity of sales that we had hoped for, we learned a great deal, enjoyed networking with other vendors, and made notes for improvements for our future booths. We are beginning to receive call-backs from attendees interested in hosting parties and fundraisers, so although it may not have been a huge hit at the time, it has promises of future business. We are appreciative of our family and friends who have supported us in our endeavors. We are especially grateful for my husband (Mandy’s dad), Herman, who has also helped us with sales, both at the home show and with getting the word out to many friends. We’ve also been very involved in the Leavenworth-area “Spirit Bag Association”. We’ve been very successful in helping our school and other charities raise money, along with our associates, through the sales of Spirit Bags. We also helped with a fundraiser at our parish, and were very pleased with the outcome for them. We joined the Business Network International organization and meet weekly in Leavenworth. We are proud to be a part of that group, which is based on the concept that “givers gain”. We provide referrals to the other businesses in the group and they return the favor. It’s a great way to market your business, and best of all, you get great tips from established business leaders on how to improve your sales, referrals, marketing, and they share new ideas that improve business skills as well. We’ve been in the business for less than a year, but we have had a great time with it. It allows us to be creative. We are always thinking of ways to spark new interest in our product. We make gift baskets, with the main attraction, of course, being our fabulous fragrant candles, but we can add in other products, which we’ve incorporated some of Mandy’s artistic talents in the form of original artwork note cards. We’ve also utilized Mandy’s artistic skills in designing business posters, fliers and signs. Mandy has always excelled in all of her coursework, so this gave her great opportunities to learn practical inventory management, as well as accounting for income/expenditures. Most importantly, I think Mandy enjoys being her own boss. I’m her adult partner, co-owner of the business, as well as proud mother. Kim Sachse |

| Hometown Hero: CPL Jeno Hankerson | ||
I met Hank while I was in the marine corps from 1993-1997. We were friends for a year and a half before we started dating. I have never met anyone that was as dedicated to his family, friends, and country as Hank is. He left active duty after his first enlistment (4 years) was up, and we went home and he went into the marine corps reserves. After 9/11 he immediately started the process to come back to active duty, doing whatever it took to come back. If you know anything about the marine corps in particular, the toughest and most demanding job is the infantry. Because he wanted to do what he could for our country, he accepted a position in the infantry, not his original military occupational specialty. At 28, when he came back in, he was considered very old to the other marines of his rank (he also took a demotion from CPL to LCPL to come back in, and 28 is old for that rank), but he kept up and surpassed some of the younger marines, giving quite a few of them a run for their money! He has done 2 tours in Iraq already since the end of 2003. He missed Christmas in 2003, the birth of our 3rd child in 2004, came back and then left again for Iraq and missed her 1st birthday too! He returned the second time 1 day after our 10 year wedding anniversary on September 30, 2005. He will be leaving for the third time this summer, and will probably miss another Christmas and anniversary. He has sacrificed a lot both personally and physically and would do anything for his "marine brothers" as well as anyone that needed him. We lost a close family friend 3 days before his return from Iraq. Upon his return, he got home and within hours of landing had to get on a plane and go to Chris' funeral detail in Idaho. He also lost several of his friends and comrades from his unit. We only hope and pray that the 3rd trip (if they pull him from ship duty) is as successful for him as his last 2. He is a true hometown hero in every way. THANK YOU, |

| Distributor Sets Goals For New Year | ||
I looked over everything in order to make an informed decision in getting involved with the company. That was great. I ordered the Candle of The Month and later ordered a variety of other scents, as well. All of the candles are great smelling and burn nice. I also have asthma and found the old paraffin candles bothered it. Mia Bella candles do not bother me at all. This year I am working towards more customer establishment. Working at craft shows was great fun and I loved it. My preference is craft shows and fundraising so that will be my focus this year. I can't wait to try out each candle one by one. I love telling people how these candles are so different, especially the soap and water cleanup. My aunt said it was like "cleaning up hard candy." Laura Gullett |

Cherrie Fishlowitz , Distributor of the Month |

As I read more about the company and researched this industry, I realized that this was an opportunity that exceeded anything that had ever come my way. I started to become very excited about what I had decided to do and went full force. With Kari’s help and encouragement I was a Diamond Distributor right around my third month. Slowly and steadily my team grew. I took everything that I was given in terms of training from Jackie, Kari and the training calls. As time passed I managed to claim ownership of my business and myself. I went to the Fall Fling in spite of a few difficulties. It was a wonderful experience and gave me a chance to step way out of my box. I was able to FINALLY meet Jackie and I also met wonderful people like Gail Wahl and Timi Moore. I was so pumped up at the Fall Fling that when they announced the dates of Spring Fling, I booked my room immediately. I had a day of epiphany in November as I watched my team and my volume grow. I realized that I was succeeding in my efforts and carving my own path in spite of my unconventional approach. Then as I thought about it more, I knew that I was going to be able to eventually replace my weekly income with my candle sales and my retirement would be replaced with my residual income. With this realization I decided to take a giant step out of my box and I joined a national networking group that met every Tuesday morning for a breakfast meeting. After the first meeting, I was ready to sign up. With Kari’s help I was able to build a very strong foundation for my business that is now starting to pay off. I have also been able to use many of the skills and much of the knowledge from my previous job. Then December came, my membership into the networking group was accepted and as Jackie said, I learned the secret handshake and it has been awesome! December was my best retail month and my best recruiting month. I’m so glad that Jackie waited until the end of the month to tell me that December was the slow month for recruiting! Now here’s the really “Scent Sational” part of my story. As I mentioned, I had an injury. That injury made me incapable of competing in the open job market. What I didn’t mention is that about 5 months before I formally met Kari, I had a traumatic event occur in my life. This single event nearly destroyed me. It certainly shattered the world as I knew it. When I met Kari I was suffering from disabling panic attacks and I had become agoraphobic ( Agoraphobia - Fear of the outdoors, crowds or uncontrolled social conditions). After emailing many times, I finally got the courage to meet with Kari right below my condo. Most people will never know how hard this was and how hard taking every step I’ve taken in this process has been. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. It’s the little miracles that make a difference in a person’s life. Everything that has happened to me in the last 2 years has been major, but the good things are the results of the little miracles. So, thank you Carmen and Lynn Milazzo, Bob Scocozzo and Charlie Umphred - without your vision, I would not have seen my way out of a very dark place. Thank you Kari Andersen and Jackie Ulmer - without your guidance I would not have been able to find my way out of that dark place. And thank you Margarath (my biggest Cheerleader) and Mitch (the one with the CASH) without your support I may have fallen back into that dark place. Thanks also to my Team because YOUR success is my success! Daily thanks to my Maker who pulls me up kicking and screaming and still lets those little miracles happen in my life anyway. Also to Pastor Marty for having the (cough) courage to tell me to stop kicking and screaming. “I’ve learned that making a “living” is not the same things as “making a life.” Cherrie Fishlowitz |
